Interested in History? Get Involved!
If you have an interest in history, please consider helping us discover the history of Johns Creek.
Our organization is open to all and focused on discovering, preserving, and sharing the history of the land and earlier inhabitants of the area that is today's City of Johns Creek.
Here are just some areas where help is needed, but any assistance is welcome.
Programs (speaking, planning programs and events, or hospitality)
Locating descendants of early farm families
Oral histories
History markers around town
Leadership (board or committee positions)
Outreach to schools, festivals, community organizations and businesses
Organization of our growing archives of photos, documents, and objects
- Data entry and digitization of records
Help with monitoring and cleanup of cemeteries
Research of local history
- Early families of the area
- Historic farming communities and life of their residents
- Churches, schools, stores, mills, blacksmiths, cotton gins
- Early ferries, bridges and roads
- Records of past land ownership and mapping
- Impact of regional and national events on our area (gold discovery, laws, wars, drought, illness, etc.)

We are actively collecting historic objects and both physical and digital documents for a centralized Johns Creek history archives and museum. If you have historic objects, photos, documents, books, tapes, or stories related to the Johns Creek area during earlier times, please contact us at info@johnscreekhistory.org
We are accepting donations of records, but can also make digital copies, if you want to retain your originals.
